Refreshes for ticket farming are worth it if the math works for your situation

A player asked Meathead directly whether 100-crystal refreshes are worth it specifically in the context of ticket farming. His answer was nuanced rather than a blanket yes or no.

His framing:

  • If you see value in it, then it is worth it. The decision is individual.
  • Over the long term there will obviously be a min/max consideration, meaning the optimal play differs by player situation and goal.
  • His worked example: if you are about 30 shards away from finishing a farm, and an extra refresh lets you cut the farm time down by some percentage, and you can justify spending 100 crystals for that percentage of time saved, then yes, take the refresh.

The implicit advice is to think about refreshes as a time-to-completion purchase, not a flat efficiency play. Buying a refresh on a farm you are nearly done with frees energy for the next farm sooner, which compounds. Buying refreshes on a farm with months to go is much harder to justify on the same crystal budget.

This is consistent with general community guidance that targeted refreshes near the end of a unit unlock or gear push tend to be the highest-value crystal spend, while routine daily refreshing is rarely optimal for free-to-play or low-spend accounts.
