A new Mercenary tag is introduced for characters who are paid to perform jobs, often involving combat, differing from Bounty Hunters who seek specific targets.
Mercenaries are the only faction that can have the Soldier of Fortune (SoF) effect, a stacking blue status effect that provides various benefits when paired with new Mercenaries.
Only a Mercenary Leader can grant SoF stacks to other Mercenaries, initially only Baylan Skoll.
Three new Mercenary characters are coming: Baylan Skoll (Leader), Shin Hati, and Marrok.
Baylan, Shin, and Marrok will have effects that benefit all Mercenaries based on their SoF stacks and can gain/lose SoF stacks themselves.
Existing characters defined as Mercenaries in lore will receive the Mercenary tag and can gain SoF stacks from Mercenary Leaders.
The following existing characters will receive the Mercenary tag:
Baylan Skoll
Boba Fett, Scion of Jango
Cad Bane
Canderous Ordo
Cara Dune
Dash Rendar
Dengar
Doc Aphra
Embo
Fennec Shand

Shin Hati is designed as an agility attacker, reflecting her combat grace, lightsaber skills, and quick-wittedness.
Marrok's kit will highlight his fighting skills and support for allies.
Baylan Skoll is a Tank who functions as a bruiser/juggernaut, designed to get stronger as battles continue.
Development for Galactic Legend Ahsoka Tano is in early stages; she will fill a tanking role with an emphasis on battlefield control and reliance on allies.
The Punishing One, Dengar's ship, is coming to the Holotables to provide an additional option for the Executor fleet, aiming to improve its performance against most matchups, though Leviathan will remain difficult.
