Title Update and 10-Year Anniversary Announcement Post
A foundational overhaul for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is being implemented, focusing on a new seasonal structure called Eras to revitalize the core experience and enhance progression for its 10-year anniversary. Eras will consist of:
- Three Episodes per Era
- Six Marquee units
- A Journey Guide event and associated unit
- Weekly Episode Quests
- Era Challenges to test Marquee Squads
- Multiple pieces of content for all players
Episode Quests, the Episode Track, and the Episode Pass will be available to all players starting at Level 10, instead of Level 85. Players below Level 85 receive introductory quests, while Level 85 players receive bespoke quests. Character Quests will be available at Level 20, the same level as Marquee Events.
Era Isolation
Era units (Marquee and Journey Guide units released during an Era) can only be used in Era modes and utilize Era resources for progression. Legacy units (units from previous Eras or existing content) cannot be used in Era modes or upgraded with Era materials. This isolation allows players to progress in both new and existing content without resource conflicts.
Era Journey Guide
- Era Journey Events begin in week 9 of an Era, coinciding with the 5th Era Marquee release.
- Era Journey Guide Units are available at 4* initially, allowing early use.
- Tier I requires the first 5 Era Marquees at 4* and Era Level 45, unlocking the Journey Guide Unit at 4*.
- 5* versions require 5 Marquee units at 5*.
- 6* and 7* versions become available with the 6th Marquee release, requiring all 6 Marquees at 6* and 7* respectively.
- After an Era, the Journey Guide becomes a Legacy event with different requirements.
Era Levels
This new linear progression system for Era units uses new resources, not Legacy gear or Relic materials. Unit Stars are required to upgrade Era Levels beyond certain thresholds:
- 4* required for Level 66+
- 5* required for Level 76+
- 6* required for Level 86+
- 7* required for Level 91+
Era Materials are earned from Coliseum, Era Marquee Events, Era Journey Events, Episode Track milestones, or store purchases. When an Era ends, Era Levels convert into Legacy Character level, Gear tier/Relic level, and Ability level. Era Materials and currencies convert to Legacy materials. Example conversions:
- Era Level 65: Lv 85/Gear 12(Base)/Ability Level 7
- Era Level 80: Lv 85/Relic 2/Ability Level 7
- Era Level 95 (Max Era Level): Lv 85/Relic 6/Ability Level 8 (Zeta abilities!)
Coliseum
- A new Era game mode, unlocking at Player Level 10.
- Individual players face rotating daily bosses.
- Rewards include one-time score milestones (reset each Era) and daily leaderboard rewards.
- The Coliseum leaderboard is a primary source for new Relic 10 materials.
- Players are randomly assigned to new Era Shards each Era, separate from Squad and Fleet Arena Shards.
Era Challenges
- Replaces Galactic Challenges.
- Difficulty tiers are balanced around Era units and squads at specific Era Levels.
- Available in weeks between marquee releases, allowing a full week for completion.
Time In Game
- Daily time commitment is managed by making Coliseum scores persistent for the Era (not daily re-battling).
- Era Challenges are less time-intensive than Galactic Challenges.
- Relic Delta will make Conquest and Territory Battles faster for over-invested squads.
Cantina
- Light Side and Dark Side tables are condensed into a single "Campaigns" table.
- Modernization efforts for Cantina are scheduled for next year.
Future Seasonal Content
- Loaned Units, temporarily granted Era units based on Legacy units, are planned for early next year for use in Era modes. These units require no direct investment and disappear at Era end.
- A new PvP mode for Eras is planned, supported by Loaned Units and a new system for stat differentiation among Era units, replacing mods for competitive viability.
- "Legacy" content will continue with new Raids, Territory Battle Planets, and Units.
Marquee Cadence
- Players are granted all Marquee units from an Era upon first login during that Era. Units become usable when their event starts.
- Marquee character shards available in Shipments approximately the second week after their Era ends and they become Legacy characters.
- Marquee character shards farmable on a node approximately 13 weeks after their marquee event.
- Marquee characters become accelerated around one year after the start of their release Era.
- Marquee units are eligible for Lightspeed Tokens one year after their release Era begins.
Relic Economy Changes
- Relic 9 recipe no longer requires Fragmented Signal Data, Chromium Transistor, and Aurodium Heatsink.
- Increased Relic Material Inflows: Relic 1-5 materials and Tier 1-3 Signal Data replace existing GC Salvage Boxes on the free Episode Track milestones. Episode Shipments will include Signal Data (Fragmented and Incomplete).
- Improved Access to Relics via Scavenger: New Relic Material recipes added for Aeromagnifiers, Droid Brains, and Corrupted Signal Data using various existing gear and salvage. For example:
- 1x Aeromagnifier = 175 points
- 1x Droid Brain = 245 points
- 1x Corrupted Signal Data = 145 points
- Raid Shipments Updated: Electrium Conductor and Zinbiddle Card costs changed from Mk III to Mk II Raid tokens. Carbonite Circuit Board, Bronzium Wiring, Chromium Transistor, and Aurodium Heatsink costs changed from Mk II to Mk I Raid tokens.
Updated Rarity Requirements
- Relic 4: Now requires 5 Stars (reduced from 6).
- Relic 5: Now requires 6 Stars (reduced from 7).
- Relic 6: Now requires 7 Stars (previously 7 Stars for Relic 5).

- Introduced to raise the Relic ceiling.
- Materials earned from Era Shipments and intended for high-end Grand Arena Championships and Territory Wars competition.
Relic Delta

Pillars of Seasonality:
- Pillar 1: Seasonal Play is for All Players - Achieved through Era Isolation and Era Levels, allowing all players to engage with new content on equal footing and progress at their own pace without impacting Legacy rosters.
- Pillar 2: Focus on the Fun - Emphasizes rapid progression with new Marquee units, relevant at lower power levels, and frequent upgrades. The Coliseum game mode is designed for daily progress and engaging boss encounters.
- Pillar 3: Tell a Star Wars story - Aims to provide deep, immersive stories and narrative experiences through Eras, with future plans to expand story-driven content in the Cantina and other areas.
- Pillar 4: Eras are the Most Efficient Path for Player Progress - Ensures progress during an Era translates directly to Legacy progress. Era Levels use unique materials, Lightspeed Tokens are rewarded, Relic 10 materials are available for veterans, and Era Currency provides agency over rewards, allowing players to build both Era and Legacy rosters simultaneously.
